Amy Pond

Welcome to my website! I am an Associate Professor in the Political Science Department at Washington University in St. Louis.

I study international and comparative political economy. I am broadly interested in how politicians navigate the often competing demands of business owners and citizens, as well as how their decisions are constrained by political institutions and international markets. My current research looks at how market concentration, asset mobility, and international ownership affect domestic policies, including the credible provision of property rights, central bank independence, and democratic representation. I also have work on political incentives for trade and financial liberalization.

Let me know if you have any questions, and thanks for visiting my website!
